Vice President's Quilting Elements Challenge - Assymetry

This month's modern design element is Assymetry We've often seen assymetry used in modern quilts, but have you thought to apply it to the quilting?

Below are some examples of quilts that are both assymetric in their design, but assymetrical quilting emphasises that design to make the quilts flow.

"Dusk" (By Marilyn Knepp)

"Cloudy Night Sky" (by Yvonne Fuchs @quiltingjetgirl)

"Multifarious me" (by Tara Glastonbury @stitchandyarn)

Your challenge, should you accept it, is to make a quilt sandwich out of a decent sized scrap and then practice quilting an assymetrical pattern.

If you would like to practice designing without having to quilt, feel free to use this printable page to practice with a media of your choice.

We're looking forward to seeing your creations at the November event!
