Programming Has Been Updated

Hello and Happy Wednesday to you all!  Just letting you know that, for your reference, the Meetings tab has been updated with the 2017-2018 programming.

January Block of the Month

I know, its not even Christmas yet, but for those of you (like me) who are counting down the days until the holidays (and days off to sew!) why not get started on our January block! I knew the months leading up to the holidays were going to be BUSY, and I just love how this block looks, so we're using a tutorial by Caroline from SewCanShe, and making the #Hashtag block!

Instructions for the Hashtag block can be found here.

Please use the below colour palette to make your blocks: blues, greens and turquoises, in prints (so long as the main colours are represented) or solids. No whites allowed (which is VERY hard for me!)

Here are two that I've made for samples. Looking forward to seeing everyone's Hashtag blocks in January!

December Sew-In

We have a sew-in this Saturday December 2nd 9am-9pm in the Program Room at the Kanata Recreation Complex.  Stop in when you like, stay as long as you like.

Members $12
Non-Members $15
(You can pay by cash, cheque, or credit (+fee) when you stop by)

What to bring:

• Sewing Machine + Cords and Pedal
• Cutting Mat + Scissors and Rotary Cutter
• Thread + Needles
• Iron or Mini Iron and applicable Ironing  Board (1 iron and board will be available ~10am - 5pm)
• Lunch
• Extension Cords + Power Bars
• Projects
• Smiles and Good Cheer

It's a perfect day to get away and do some holiday sewing and maybe some gift wrapping, too!
