Vice President's Challenge Oct 2024

October's Block and Colours

Here are my blocks where I made 2 traditional to play with which colour will be the background and which will be the main (I really enjoyed the Kona Princess as the main!)  Then I made two modern takes.  I stuck a patch of Kona Brick (sort of) boro style onto one of the patches and love the effect.

Remember these rules?

  1. You can add other colours to the blocks, as long as the colour prompts are used as well.
  2. Use as much or as little of the colour prompts as you like.
  3. Use the best match from your stash, no pressure to use the exact Kona fabric or colours.

It turns out this is another month that text will work (there are two more months where the blocks *might* lend to building text but it could be challenging, so take advantage of September and October if you can 😉).

If you're up for trying text, October's theme is "Candy".

I found an 8 bit alphabet from Vectorstock you can reference as a bouncing board.

Here is an example using Excel.  Do you have a favourite candy?  I used to love WigWag as a kid #agingmyself.
