2022-23 Vice President's Big Magic Challenge

VP Challenge for 2022-2023 is .... Big Magic!

My daughter gave me a book by Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic; Creative Living Beyond Fear. The book goes beyond Gilbert’s creative process. She coaches you to find new ways to live your life in a curious, passionate, mindful manner. In the book, she asks, “Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you?” It was a light read and I enjoyed it!

So this year, my challenge is … bring forth the modern quilt within you! Be enchanted by things around you. Try new techniques. Go bold with new colours. Let go of that ruler. Try a new interpretation of a traditional pattern. Make a statement!

The challenge is simple. Design and make something as unique as you are! No rules. It can be any size or shape. Feel free to share your treasures along the way in our monthly Show and Tell or on Instagram #ottmqg. Check out the blog space each month where I will provide three prompts; design, artist and word/picture. Hopefully, they will provide inspiration to spark some creativity.

Bring forth the quilt treasure within you!
