Upcoming Meetings


Mark your calendars for our meetings.  Here's the upcoming schedule:


Programs include:
  • November - Libs Elliot, a Toronto modern quilter that creates quilts by designing using a programming language called Processing. Her work has been covered by Gizmodo.com, Design Milk, and Casa Vogue Brazil.   http://www.libselliott.com/
  • December - Dessert Pot Luck. Bring desserts, eat, and be merry.
  • January - Glue - Who'd a thunk it?  - Glue can be used for a variety of applications: applique, binding, basting, precision piecing, and English paper piecing.
  • February - Supplies and Notions - bring your favorite quilting tool and tell us how you use it.
  • March - Cinzia Alloca Trunk Show - Cinzia has employ liberated and improvisational techniques in my approach to making and designing quilts. Her quilts have been featured in Modern Quilts Unlimited magazine and selected for the Best of Quiltcon Travelling Quilt Show.   http://deuxpetitessouris.weebly.com/
  • April - Wendy Foster Birch - Thread and machine quilting.  What type, size and thread should you use? 
  • May - Silent Auction.  Bring in items to sell and/or show up to bid.  This event helps make money for presenters!
  • June - Last meeting before summer break.

Block of the Month - November

This project is designed to be fun and inspire creativity.

At the Guild Meeting, a block pattern will be introduced. During the month, members may make the block, submit it at the next guild meeting and be entered in a drawing. The winner will receive all the blocks that are turned in during the meeting .

 (If there are many blocks, more than one winner may be awarded). Members may enter as many blocks as they wish.

October 26th's Program

Choosing colours for a quilt can be one of the more challenging, yet rewarding, parts of the creative process of making a quilt. M-R will share her quilts and how she makes her colour choices. She'll also discuss some tools, tips and resources that she uses, as well as cover some current colour trends being used by modern quilters.

October Sew In

Spots are still available for the October sew in!!!  


Sew days are an excellent way to get your unfinished projects completed while chatting up with your quilty friends.

Sew days are held at Maki House - 19 Leeming Drive from 10am to 4pm.  The cost is $12 to join.  
Bring any projects you wish to work on, lunch/snacks, and your quilting tools.
