Surface Pattern Design & Decolorant Workshop with Jenn McMillan

Make your own repeating pattern
Have you ever wanted to learn the secret behind creating a repeat pattern, without using a computer? Ever wanted to try using Decolourant on your quilts and/or sewing projects? Well, this workshop brings those two seemingly unrelated things together allowing you to create your own custom designed textiles in a modern-batik style! First, we'll learn about creating repeating patterns, draw some motifs and create our repeats using simple drawing tools. Next, we'll transfer our designs onto freezer paper which will act as our stencil, then use Decolourant on our solid fabrics to make our patterns come to life! No sewing machines needed for this workshop. 6 hours (including 1 hr lunch break)

Where: Sullivan Room, Maki House, 19 Leeming Dr
When: 10am-5pm, Sun Oct 27 (table set up starts at 9:30am, workshop starts at 10am)
Member Cost: $60
Non-Member Cost: $65
How to pay: At the May 27, Jun 24, Sep 23 meetings by cash, cheque, or credit card. Or by Square online here.
Cap: 20 students

Preliminary Supply List:
