Executive Established and Work Underway

Hello All,

I am so pleased to announce that we had a lovely, successful meeting on Wednesday, January 30th, for those who were interested in being key members or helping out with the start up of our Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild.

By acclamation (or lack of other willing volunteers), the following positions have been established until the end of June 2013. Positions will be reassessed for interest and other candidates at that time.

In the meantime, I am pleased to announce the following key members of our Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild:

Laura Piggott - President
M-R Charbonneau - Vice-President
Katy Devlin - Treasurer
Anne-Marie Binet - Librarian
Pam Denesyk - Secretary
Jan Kittle - Member at Large
Sarah Heath - Member at Large

We still need to hold one or two more behind-the-scenes, get-your-nose-and-hands-dirty meetings before we officially get up and running. If you are interested in helping out with some of the work to make this all possible, please leave a comment below.

We are looking into possible meeting places and times and will announce everything once we have it firmed up. So far, we are looking for cost-effective, central Ottawa locations that could accommodate a meeting on the 3rd or 4th Monday evening of each month and also be available for one weekend sew-in day a month as well.

So excited to be in this journey with all of you!
Laura

  2. Thanks for taking the lead on this! I will put my thinking cap on for location. Does Bells Corners count as "central"? I know it's really west end, but if it would work, I could make some inquiries at my church. We have some very good meeting spaces. Also the community centre has very reasonable rates, so other, more central, community centres in the city might have good rates too.
